BMT Scientific Marine Services Inc (BMT) has been awarded a contract from SBM Offshore to provide an Integrated Marine Monitoring System (IMMS) for the Stones Floating Production Storage Offshore (FPSO) in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The IMMS monitors, logs and displays data in real-time to provide operational support functionality and archives data for assessing the facility’s integrity over time. The Stones IMMS is comprised of a set of subsystems including environmental and facility monitoring, mooring line monitoring, and subsea acoustic monitoring of the disconnectable turret buoy.

Chevron U.S.A. Inc. awarded a contract to BMT Scientific Marine Services Inc (BMT) to provide an Environmental and Facilities Monitoring System (EFMS) for the Jack & St. Malo Floating Production Semi-Submersible (FPSS) in the Gulf of Mexico. The EFMS monitors, logs, and displays data in real-time on the local environment and facility motions. It archives the data for assessing the FPSS’ integrity over time and interfaces with the facility’s other platform control systems. The new Spanish military shipbuilder, Navantia, has been unveiled by Pedro Solbes, the Spanish government’s second vice-prime minister and economics minister, along with Enrique Martínez Robles, the Chairman of the state holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), and the Chairman of the new company, Juan Pedro Gómez Jaén. The company, specializing in the design, construction and integration of military ships, is owned by SEPI and is the result of the desegregation of Izar’s military activities in line with the agreement reached in order to make publicly-owned shipyards viable.
