IMO Maritime Safety Committee has confirmed completion of the corrective actions requested by IMO to the International Association of Classification Societies’ (IACS) Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR BC&OT) under the agenda item 6, Goal-Based New Ship Construction Standards (GBS) at its 98th session held on June 7, 2017. Previously, MSC96 confirmed CSR BC&OT complied with GBS in 2016, and the ships constructed in compliance with the rules at that time should be deemed as compliant with GBS.

ClassNK has released PrimeShip-HULL (HCSR) Ver. 2.5.0 in response to the new IACS Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR BC & OT). CSR BC & OT, which harmonizes requirements found in both existing Common Structural Rules for bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers, was adopted by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) Council in December 2013, partially amended in 2014, and applies to bulk carriers over 90m in length and double hull oil tankers over 150m in length contracted for construction on or after 1 July 2015.
