Teekay Corporation announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, TPO Investments AS (TPO), has acquired an additional 30.1 percent interest (22.6 million common shares) in Teekay Petrojarl ASA (Teekay Petrojarl) from Prosafe Production (Prosafe) at a price of NOK 59 per share. Teekay Petrojarl is a leading operator of Floating Production Storage and Offloading (the North Sea and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: PETRO). The total purchase price of approximately $257 million will be settled in cash. As a result of this transaction, Teekay’s total ownership of Teekay Petrojarl has increased to approximately 94.8 percent from 64.7 percent.

Keppel Shipyard has secured three new FPSO contracts worth a total of around S$160 million. These conversion contracts are from regular customers Single Buoy Moorings Inc (SBM), Prosafe Production Pte Ltd and newcomer Four Vanguard-Servicos e Navegacao Lda. The preferred shipyard of SBM in the Far East, Keppel Shipyard is expected to complete the conversion of Amazon Eagle for SBM by the second quarter of 2003. Amazon Eagle is the sixth conversion project that Keppel is undertaking for SBM, which owns and operates the world’s largest fleet of FPSO and FSO. The 307,431 dwt tanker, which has arrived in the yard, will be deployed to the Zafiro field off Equatorial Guinea upon completion.

FPSO Umuroa has been delivered to Prosafe Production. Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has been awarded two conversion contracts, worth a total of S$100 million, one by Prosafe Production Pte Ltd, and the other by Shipping Logistics Incorporated for a long term charter to Perenco S.A. The first contract awarded by Prosafe is for the conversion of a 101,832 dwt double-sided tanker, MT Kudam, into a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility. Subic Shipyard & Engineering Inc (SSEI), an associate of Keppel Shipyard, will carry out the first phase of this FPSO conversion.

When the P-52 FPU is operational, Keppel’s projects for Petrobras would have contributed over 50 percent of Brazil’s total oil production capacity of about 1.8m barrels of oil per day. The consortium of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) and Technip Engenharia S/A is on track to deliver the P-52 floating production unit (FPU) to Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV) in the third quarter of 2007. This P-52 FPU was the first project for which Petrobras imposed a minimum 60% of the total work to be carried out in-country when the project was put out for tender in 2002. The Keppel/Technip consortium has more than met the requirement. The project also won accolades from Petrobras for excellence in project management and execution in the PRODEP award for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006.

Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) maintains its track record of on time, on budget deliveries with its first completion in 2007. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), the Floating Production Storage and Offloading facility (FPSO) Polvo is on course to be delivered to valued customer, Prosafe Production (Prosafe) in February. Keppel Shipyard, the wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Corporation Limited (KCL) through Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has successfully converted a 132,500 dwt tanker into a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for Prosafe Production. The vessel, previously known as Grey Warrior, was named ABO FPSO by Ms AmaI Pepple, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria, at a ceremony held at Keppel Shipyard this morning.
