Florida Inland Port Forges Alliance with JaxPort

This and recent agreements with Port of Miami and Port of Palm Beach solidify Florida Inland Port’s position as the premier inland port / integrated logistics center serving the southeastern U.S. Florida Inland Port today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that creates a strategic alliance with the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT). Johnston Metal Shark Boats Comms Director

Metal Shark Boats announced that it has named Brian Johnston as the company's Director of Communications. Johnston assumes responsibility for Metal Shark's advertising and public relations activities, as well as associate and industry communications. In addition to his role with Metal Shark, Johnston will continue to serve in his capacity as Principal at Bonefish Communications. A marine industry veteran, Johnston has planned and executed national public relations activities, domestic and global media launches, and other media outreach programs.

Silversea Appoints VP Corporate Communications

Silversea Cruises' CEO Albert Peter announced the appointment of Barbara Muckermann to the newly created position of vice president, corporate communications. The communications division will now encompass public relations, guest relations and the line's past guest program, the Venetian Society. our already strong presence in the critically important North American market, ensuring the continuity of the Silversea message as we continue to expand our presence worldwide," stated Peter. Muckermann has an extensive background in communications and the international maritime industry in particular. During her career she has worked in France and Italy and handled the public relations activities for several European shipping and consumer accounts such as UMS Generali Marine and RINA.

Alliance Aimed to Boost Trade Between Dallas and Asia Through the Panama Canal

With more than 60 percent of Panama Canal traffic originating from or moving to the East Coast of the United States, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announced a move to boost U.S.-Asia trade through a strategic alliance with the Dallas NAFTA Trade Corridor Coalition (DNTCC). The DNTCC is working in collaboration with the U.S. Maritime Administration to pursue the development of an agile port system in southern Dallas County to improve the speed and efficiencies of cargo movement between the Port of Dallas and various domestic and international seaports. The ACP-DNTCC alliance will increase cooperation – such as joint marketing – between these two entities and seek to boost trade along the “All-Water Route,” the route from Asia to the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts via the Panama Canal.
