Hasås joins Kongsberg Digital as SVP for Maritime Simulation

MPHRP Informs Seafarers of Services in Philippines

A two-day Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Awareness Campaign updated the seafarer public in Luneta Park, Manila of MPHRP’s programmes and services led by MPHRP Regional Director for Philippines/Southeast Asia Rancho Villavicencio and MPHRP Assistant Programme Director Hennie la Grange, July 23-24. In partnership with SEACOMS Maritime Development International, Inc., the Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Programme Philippines held its awareness campaign for the second time in Manila where a seafarer crowd was gathered to be informed of the programme’s existence and how MPHRP assists piracy survivors and their families locally.

Supreme Court of Norway Denies Scanmar Appeal

Marport Deep Sea Technologies Inc., a developer of advanced sonar technology for commercial and military applications, announced that the Supreme Court of Norway has denied Scanmar’s appeal in their lawsuit against Marport. The litigation between Scanmar AS, Scantrawl AS and Henning Skjold-Larsen on one side (“Scanmar”) and Marport Canada Inc, Marport Iceland Ehf and Pronav AS on the other (“Marport”) has finally come to an end. The Supreme Court of Norway concluded that the case contains neither principal matters of importance nor any other circumstances which required an appeal to be heard. patents. JHD Names New Managing Director

Jakob Hatteland Display (JHD) has named Tomm-Erik Johannessen, as managing director of its daughter company, Hatteland Technology. Johannessen, an IT professional with 15 years in the Royal Norwegian Air Force and managerial positions at high-profile Norwegian firms, including Scanmar AS, joined Hatteland Technology on 15th September 2006. As head of Hatteland Technology, Johannessen's responsibilities are focussed on expanding R&D for JHD's marine displays and computers.
