Executive Changes at Transocean

Transocean Ltd. today announced that, as mutually agreed with the company, Esa Ikaheimonen is stepping down as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. Mr. Ikaheimonen has also resigned his company-appointed position as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transocean Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Transocean. Additionally, the company announced that Mr. Mark Mey has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective May 28, 2015. Scorpion Names Offshore Freedom

ABS representatives attended the naming ceremony for Scorpion Offshore’s ultra-premium, LeTourneau Super 116E jackup, ABS-classed and built at Lamprell Shipyard in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is the sixth jackup for Scorpion classed by ABS. Offshore Freedom is capable of operating in up to 400-ft water depth and has a 30,000-ft drilling capacity. ABS has classed a series of five Scorpion rigs (Offshore Courageous, Offshore Defender, Offshore Resolute, Offshore Vigilant and Offshore Intrepid) all of the same LeTourneau design delivered progressively throughout 2007 and 2008 from Keppel Amfels’ yard in Brownsville. The seventh and final ABS-classed jackup for Scorpion, Offshore Mischief, is scheduled for delivery the fourth quarter of this year from Lamprell.

Keppel Completes 5 Scorpion Jackups

Keppel AmFELS Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) in the US Gulf of Mexico, has delivered the jackup drilling rig, Offshore Intrepid, to Scorpion Intrepid Ltd. a subsidiary of Scorpion Offshore Ltd. (Scorpion) on time. With this delivery, Keppel AmFELS has completed the series of five LeTourneau Super 116 jackup rigs commissioned by Scorpion in 2005 without delay. Offshore Intrepid was named by Mrs. Drucie Cole, spouse of Mr. Jon Cole, Scorpion’s President & CEO, at the Keppel AmFELS yard on 24 January 2009.

Keppel, Seadrill Continue Rig Builds

The wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), Keppel FELS Limited, and Seadrill Jack-Ups Ltd have agreed to continue with the building of the two jackups on revised terms that are mutually beneficial. The contract value of the two jackups is $420m. Keppel FELS Limited and Scorpion Offshore have agreed to terminate the $405m rig contract on mutually acceptable terms. Scorpion Offshore is working closely with Keppel FELS in the latter’s exploratory discussions with interested third parties to take over the building of the semisubmersible. The outcome of these discussions are highly uncertain. Keppel Singmarine and Lewek Shipping are currently working towards an amicable mutual termination of their contract and this is expected to be finalised shortly.

Keppel, Seadrill, Scorpion, Lewek in Talks

Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) has received indications from Seadrill Limited, Scorpion Offshore Ltd, and Lewek Shipping Pte Ltd that they are reviewing their options on their newbuilding contracts that were signed in the middle of this year. The contracts under review are for a semisubmersible for Scorpion Offshore, two jackup rigs for Seadrill and a Multi-Functional Support Vessel for Lewek Shipping. Keppel O&M is in talks with them to arrive at mutually acceptable arrangements for these contracts. Construction work has not started on these projects, for which Keppel O&M has received downpayments. If these contracts are cancelled…

Keppel to build Scorpion Semisub

Keppel FELS Limited was contracted to build its proprietary DSS 38 deepwater semisubmersible (semi) rig for Scorpion Offshore Ltd (Scorpion). The contract with Scorpion is subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions by mid July 2008. It is valued at $405 million. The amount excludes owner-supplied drilling and subsea equipment. Upon its completion in the fourth quarter of 2011, this semi will be chartered by Scorpion to Brazilian national oil company Petrobras for a period of six years.

LeTourneau, Lamprell Contract for Newbuild Jack-up Kit

LeTourneau Technologies, Inc. announced the sale of a second LeTourneau Super 116E Class jack-up rig kit to Lamprell Energy, Ltd., with final delivery expected by the end of 2008. The rig is to be built at Lamprell's Hamriyah facility located in the United Arab Emirates for Scorpion Offshore Ltd. Lamprell is currently building an initial Super 116E Class jack-up at the same location, also for Scorpion Offshore, under a license from LTI. This order is the 18th for the popular LeTourneau Super 116 series of jack-ups. The Super 116E Class is one of five current LTI jack-up rig designs, and an evolution of the LTI's industry workhorse 116-C Class design. The Super 116E provides up to 2,000 kip greater payload than its predecessor.

Keppel AmFELS to Deliver Scorpion Jackup

Keppel AmFELS Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), is on course to a timely delivery of Scorpion Offshore Ltd.’s first jackup drilling rig at the end of May 2007. The ultra premium drilling rig, Offshore Courageous, is the first of five jackups that Keppel AmFELS is constructing for Scorpion Offshore. The other four rigs are Offshore Defender, Offshore Resolute, Offshore Vigilant and Offshore Intrepid. Keppel AmFELS on Course for Delivery of Jackup Rig

Keppel AmFELS Inc., is expected to deliver the first of its five jackup rigs on time and within budget for Scorpion Offshore Ltd. Keppel AmFELS launched the premium rig Offshore Courageous on November 4, 2006, which marked the completion of the hull works, a major milestone in its construction of the jackup. Ho Cheok Yuen, President and CEO of Keppel AmFELS, said, “We are committed to our delivery schedule for Offshore Courageous, and I am pleased that we are progressing as planned for our first rig for Scorpion Offshore. The other four Scorpion rigs are named Offshore Defender, Offshore Resolute, Offshore Vigilant and Offshore Intrepid. All five rigs are built to the LeTourneau Super 116 design, with leg lengths of 477 ft.

Keppel Atwood Contract Takes Effect

Keppel AmFELS Inc. is pleased to announce that its contract with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atwood Oceanics Inc. (Atwood) for the construction of a new jackup rig is now effective. This contract follows the Letter of Intent signed between the two companies announced on 7 February 2006. The rig, excluding Owner Furnished Equipment, is valued at US$110 million and is due for delivery in the third quarter of 2008. Keppel Wins Fifth Jackup Order from Scorpion

Keppel AmFELS has received a fifth order from Scorpion Offshore (Scorpion) for a jackup rig valued at $143 million. This contract is signed with Scorpion’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Scorpion Intrepid Ltd. All five jackup orders have been secured within nine months of Scorpion’s execution of the first construction contract in May 2005. Like Scorpion's other four jackups, the new rig will be a LeTourneau Super 116 design equipped with leg lengths of 477ft, and capable of drilling wells up to 30,000ft deep in water depths of 350ft. Scorpion’s latest rig is named Offshore Intrepid and is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2008. The yard is also building two accommodation platforms for PEMEX and a sludge vessel for the City of New York.

Scorpion Offshore Orders Two Rigs

Scorpion Drilling Ltd (Scorpion) has exercised its option to order two additional LeTourneau Super 116 jackups to be built at Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, Texas. The contract price for the two rigs, excluding Owner Furnished Equipment, is approximately $180 million. The new units represent the third and fourth jackup rigs in Scorpion’s fleet. The first two rigs, which were secured in July 2005, are currently being constructed by Keppel AmFELS. All four units are ultra-premium class jackups suited for both international operations as well as deep gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Scorpion also holds one option for Keppel AmFELS to build another comparable rig. This option will expire at end November 2005.
