Alfa Laval PureSOx gives customers the option of scrubbing in closed loop, either by choosing a fully equipped hybrid system or by installing a hybrid-ready system that can be upgraded for closed-loop operation later. With the launch of a modular new PureSOx water cleaning system (WCS), these possibilities become even more attractive. Though few in number and limited in scope, local bans on open-loop scrubbing have intensified the interest in hybrid scrubber solutions with closed-loop functionality.

Andritz Wins Order for Dry Scrubber

Alfa Laval Continues to Develop PureSOx

Alfa Laval’s SOx scrubber platform PureSOx is available in multiple operating arrangements, two scrubber designs and a range of compliance profiles for meeting the 2020 global sulphur cap. Working closely with customers, Alfa Laval said it is pursuing improvements and options to make it even more flexible and optimized. PureSOx was launched in 2012 to let vessels meet SOx limits while continuing to use economical heavy fuel oil. In the years since, it has evolved into a highly flexible scrubber platform, fully prepared for the 2020 global sulphur cap.

Damen Now Offfers AEC Scrubbers

Langh Tech Scrubbers for Norwegian Cruise Line Newbuilds

Finnish manufacturer and supplier of scrubber solutions Langh Tech will deliver scrubber systems to two new cruise vessels on order at Meyer Werft in Papenburg for (NCL). The two newbuildings of NCL’s Breakaway Plus class will be equipped with Langh Tech’s hybrid type scrubbers, enabling unrestricted operation in closed loop mode. Delivery includes scrubber units for all five engines on each ship and treatment plants for the scrubber water. “The scrubber tower is of our design but will be manufactured at the shipyard.

Grimaldi Places 10th PureSOx Scrubber Order

Alfa Laval reports its scrubber solution PureSOx has been the subject of many repeat orders. One of the major returning customers is the Grimaldi Group, which has now ordered its 10th installation of Alfa Laval’s exhaust gas cleaning system. The Grimaldi Group is a multinational logistics group specialized in the operation of RoRo vessels, car carriers and ferries. Through the maritime services of Atlantic Container Line, Finnlines and its other companies, the Naples-based group transports passengers, nearly any type of rolling cargo as well as containers and general cargo.
