Hyproc Shipping Chooses AMOS2
During a formal ceremony held at the local Sheraton Hotel in Oran, Algeria on the 9th of September, Giampiero Soncini and Stefano Succi have signed a contract with Hyproc, a branch of the Algerian oil and gas company Sonatrach, the 12th largest oil and gas company in the world. The project (called HYceo) includes the delivery of AMOS software for the Hyproc fleet of LNG carriers, consultancy and bespoke software development, and an extended personnel training program. The project has to be completed by end 2010. SpecTec Italy has linked with Hyproc's team in Algeria, Ernst&Young in Paris (Hyproc bid consultant), Oracle in Algeria and Veson in the USA on this contract in order to present a coordinated and workable bid. Implementation of Shipdex T Protocol
On June 23rd 2009 at SpecTec Italy Office in La Spezia, the first ShipdexT trial was successfully performed with the participation of ShipdexT Founder Members. The purpose of the trial was to evaluate the first datasets produced by MAN Diesel and MacGregor in accordance with ShipdexT Protocol 1.1 and 1.0.2. The Shipdex datasets have been successfully validated using AMOS Shipdex Data Manager. Furthermore, the validated ShipdexT datasets have been successfully imported into the ISN's AMOS Business Suite database using AMOS Shipdex Interface. Giancarlo Coletta of Grimaldi Group (Naples) said "this is the first important step in a new era for the shipping industry to manage maintenance and technical data and get rid of paper manuals".
CSU-Long Beach, SpecTec Exchange Students
Long Beach SpecTec CEO and CFO have been hosted by California State University Long Beach (CSULB), to discuss a cooperation agreement with the University. The meeting was arranged by Daniela Rapattoni, of the New Center for Cultural Research and Universities Studies in Italy, an organization sponsored by the Bank of La Spezia. SpecTec Italy Extends Agreement With SNAM
SpecTec Italy has signed a contract extension with SNAM, Italy's leading gas transportation and distribution company. According to the terms outlined in the deal, SpecTec Italy will provide SNAM with training services, technical support and customized software. In 1999, SpecTec Italy installed AMOS Maintenance and AMOS Purchase in 20 SNAM gas-pumping stations located throughout Italy. The new contract, valued $2 million, will service these installations for an additional 24 months.
SpecTec Group Secures Agreement With Saipem
SpecTec Italy, the Italian conglomerate of SpecTec Group, announced that Saipem, ENI'S offshore branch, will allow SpecTec to implement AMOS software onboard all Saipem offshore rigs, platforms, supply vessels and on-shore oil drilling sites. The contract follows the successful test of the integration of AMOS for Windows product with all modules of the SAP suite of software. The agreement, reached in co-operation with Andersen Consulting and Enidata, has a potential value of $1.1 million, of which $275,000 has already been allocated. After a thorough review of competing systems, Saipem chose AMOS. The first phase of the project will be completed by the end of the year, but installations on all of Saipem's mobile units and supply ships may take up to two years.
