3sun Invests in Future Growth
Great-Yarmouth based 3sun Group, a specialist provider of products and services to the global energy industry, has reported a turnover of £13.7 million for the financial year 2012/13. The company’s turnover increased almost threefold from 2010/2011, going from £2.4million to £6.5million, and almost doubled from 2011/2012 with an increase to £11.4million. Its projected turnover for the 2013/14 financial year is on track to be £25million, following the recent acquisition of RRC Controls Services, an established manufacturer of subsea control systems for the offshore oil and gas industry.
Acquisition Enhances 3sun’s Aberdeen Presence

The deal, worth a six figure sum, is part of 3sun Group’s plans to expand its footprint in Aberdeen and enhance its service offering to the energy industry. The acquisition of RRC Controls Services, an established manufacturer of subsea control systems for the offshore oil and gas industry, will allow 3sun to provide the global subsea market with full turnkey engineering solutions.
Aker Solutions to Double Subsea Manufacturing Capacity in Brazil
Aker Solutions today laid the foundation stone of a new plant in Paraná that will double the company's subsea production capacity in Brazil. The plant in the city of São José dos Pinhais in the Paraná state in Brazil will be operational in 2015. It will replace Aker Solutions' current subsea manufacturing facility in Curitiba and double production capacity in the country. Aker Solutions' Executive Chairman Øyvind Eriksen and Luis Araujo, president and country manager of the company's Brazilian operations, took part in a ceremony laying the foundation stone at the new site.

Aker Solutions Awarded Frame Agreement
Aker Solutions has entered a frame agreement with Petrobras to provide subsea equipment for the oil company's deepwater pre-salt field developments in Brazil. The contract value is approximately $800 million (USD). The scope of work is for 60 well-sets with vertical subsea trees, subsea control systems, tools and spares within the 2014-2018 period. Petrobras will deploy the 60 well-sets in the pre-salt field developments located 300 kilometres off the São Paulo coast in the Santos Basin. "We are committed to developing the subsea industry in Brazil by growing our Brazilian expertise supported by our international competence network," says Luis Araujo, president and country manager of Aker Solutions in Brazil.
UK's Proserv Wins Platform Topside Controls Contract
Proserv secure a £1.2-million contract to supply topside control equipment at a major southern North Sea development. The company was awarded the deal on the Cygnus field by operator GDF SUEZ through its design contractor AMEC. As part of the agreement Proserv will supply the design, engineering and build of wellhead control panels and accompanying topside umbilical termination unit for the Alpha and Bravo platforms. Six of the 10 development wells for both platforms will be controlled by the initial panel design and includes the commissioning of spares and specialist tools.

Aker Kvaerner Secures Framework Agreement with Shell
Aker Kvaerner has signed a five-year partnership agreement with Shell U.K. Limited and A/S Norske Shell ('Shell') covering the provision, installation, commissioning and life-of-field support of subsea control systems in the North Sea. The framework agreement is signed for an initial five year period, with five optional one-year extensions. It could be worth between GBP 20 and 30 million over the first five years. The contract encapsulates the two companies' solid working relationship, which has been running since the late 1970s. The deal brings Aker Kvaerner Subsea's controls delivery and service, including aftermarket services, into one contract arrangement to ensure maximum efficiency in supporting Shell's projects.
