Aker Wayfarer Wins 5-Yr Contract from Petrobras

Aker Solutions' subsidiary Aker Oilfield Services (AKOFS) has won a contract worth USD 465 million over five years from Petrobras to provide subsea intervention services offshore Brazil from the Aker Wayfarer vessel. The contract will start within the fourth quarter of 2016 and has a five-year option extension. AKOFS will at the end of September become part of Akastor, an oilfield services investment company that will be one of two companies formed as part of the announced separation of Aker Solutions. The Aker Wayfarer vessel will be outfitted at a yard in Norway to become a deepwater subsea equipment support vessel (SESV). It will have a fibre-rope deployment system…

FTO Services Announces Completion of First Vessel

FTO Services announced today that construction of its new deepwater well intervention services vessel has been completed. The naming ceremony for the new vessel, Island Performer, was held in Ulsteinvik, Norway on June 27. During the event, about 200 guests including executives from FTO Services, Edison Chouest Offshore and FMC Technologies sailed on a five hour maiden voyage to celebrate the naming of the vessel. In the fourth quarter of 2014, FTO Services will begin a 5 year lease of Island Performer from vessel owner, Island Offshore.

BAE Systems to Build Subsea Support Vessel

Oceaneering International, Inc., a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products, has selected BAE Systems to build a subsea support vessel for offshore drilling. The vessel will be used to augment Oceaneering’s ability to provide subsea intervention services in the ultra-deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. BAE Systems continues to support the offshore energy market as it grows its U.S. commercial shipbuilding operations. Construction will take place at the company’s Mobile, Alabama shipyard, and, when complete, the U.S.

Oceaneering Announces Newbuild Subsea Support Vessel

Oceaneering International, Inc. announced it has commissioned the construction of a subsea support vessel from BAE Systems. The vessel is expected for delivery by the end of the first quarter of 2016. This vessel will be U.S. flagged and documented with a coastwise endorsement by the U.S. Coast Guard. It will have an overall length of 353 feet, a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 110 personnel, a helideck, a 250-ton active heave compensated crane, and a working moonpool.

Oceaneering International, Inc. has commissioned the construction of a subsea support vessel from BAE Systems, expected to be delivered by the end of the first quarter of 2016. The new ship will be U.S. flagged and documented with a coastwise endorsement by the U.S. Coast Guard. It will have an overall length of 353 feet, a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 110 personnel, a helideck, a 250-ton active heave compensated crane, and a working moonpool. Two 13,000 foot-rated Oceaneering work class remotely operated vehicles will also be provided.

Oceaneering Charter 'Normand Flower' for Three Years

Oceaneering International, has chartered the 'Normand Flower', a Solstad Offshore multi-service subsea support vessel. The charter term is expected to commence during the fourth quarter of 2013 upon arrival of the vessel for work in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). Aker Solutions: Seventh Drilling Equipment Package to Brazil

Aker Solutions has won a contract to supply a complete drilling equipment package for a deepwater drillship Jurong Shipyard is building for the Brazilian market. The contract value is undisclosed. Earlier this year Aker Solutions announced a contract to supply six drilling equipment packages to Jurong Shipyard. The contract included an option for an additional drilling package, which the customer now has exercised. The contract includes complete topside and subsea equipment (drilling riser and blow-out preventer). The equipment will be delivered from Aker Solutions in Norway, Germany and Brazil. Aker Solutions is building a new $100m service and manufacturing facility in Macaé, Brazil's offshore capital, in order to meet expected growth.

Oceaneering Announces Vessel Charter

Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII) has announced that it has entered into a five-year charter for use of the Cade Candies, a multi-service subsea support vessel owned by Otto Candies LLC. The charter is expected to commence during the second quarter of 2013. This state-of-the-art, U.S. flagged vessel was built in 2010. It has an overall length of approximately 309 feet (94 meters), a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 69 personnel, a helideck, a 150-ton active heave compensated crane, and a working moonpool. Oceaneering's current rolling, short-term charter contract on the Cade Candies, in place since November 2011, will continue through early 2013. At that time, the vessel will enter a shipyard to undergo modifications to enhance its project capabilities.

Oceaneering International charters multi-purpose subsea support vessel 'Cade Candies' for 5 years from Otto Candies LLC. This state-of-the-art, U.S. flagged vessel was built in 2010. It has an overall length of approximately 309 feet (94 meters), a Class 2 dynamic positioning system, accommodations for 69 personnel, a helideck, a 150-ton active heave compensated crane, and a working moonpool. Oceaneering's current rolling, short-term charter contract on the Cade Candies, in place since November 2011, will continue through early 2013.

Cargotec Wins Another Volstad Crane Order

Volstad Maritime returns for repeat offshore crane contract from Cargotec. Following on from an order in April last year, Cargotec has won a contract for two active heave-compensated (AHC) offshore cranes from the privately-owned Norwegian specialist operator, Volstad Maritime. The two cranes, a 250-tonne MacGregor AHC subsea crane and a 15-tonne MacGregor AHC offshore crane, will be fitted to Volstad's new offshore construction vessel (OCV) on order at Bergen Group Fosen shipyard in Norway.
