Sonsub’s HOS Innovator Completes First Year
Sonsub’s versatile 240 ft., Class II DP vessel, the HOS INNOVATOR, has completed a its first year of operations in the Gulf of Mexico. During this time the HOS INNOVATOR had no LTI’S (Lost Time Incidents) and held 321 safety/toolbox meetings. These accomplishments are the result of dedicated personnel, technically superior equipment and the help from our established, long-term partners. The vessel, permanently outfitted with a 200 Hp INNOVATORâ ROV and a 36 ton, 75 ft. box boom crane, has assisted with some of the largest projects in the Gulf of Mexico. The HOS INNOVATOR spread has thus far performed tasks including pre-lay pipeline route inspections, pipeline crossing mat installations, pig pushing operations and wellhead change-outs.

Hornbeck Offshore to Acquire Superior Achiever
Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement with Superior Offshore International, Inc, a subsea construction and commercial diving services company, to acquire the Superior Achiever, a T-22 class DP-3 new generation multi-purpose support vessel and related owner-furnished equipment, currently under construction at Merwede Shipyard in Holland with an anticipated fourth quarter 2008 delivery. Merwede Shipyard is also building for Hornbeck the HOS Iron Horse, a T-22 class DP-3 MPSV of the same design, with an expected fourth quarter 2009 delivery. With the pending acquisition of the Superior Achiever, the Company's MPSV program now consists of four vessels.

Bollinger Shipyards, Lockport, La., has signed a contract to build two 245-ft. (74.6 m) class liftboats for Cardinal Services, a subsidiary of Superior Energy Services, Inc., Harvey, La. Construction will begin at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, Inc., Amelia, La. this month with deliveries scheduled for February 2002 and June 2002. The liftboats, which will be able to operate in water depths of up to 180-ft., will expand Superior's fleet from 49 to 51. Superior owns and operates the largest and most diverse liftboat fleet in the world. The 245-ft. (74.6 m) class liftboats will be 141 ft. (42.9 m), with molded hulls of 67 ft. (20.4 m) and hull depths of 13 ft. (3.9 m). Their 6,550 sq. ft. deck capacities will be more than 1 million lbs.

HB Rentals’ Eagle Ford Contract & New Texas Facility
Onsite accommodation specialist, HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, has opened an additional facility in Texas and has been awarded a one-year contract to provide onsite living quarters with offices for four rigs operating in the Eagle Ford shale play in South Texas. The additional facility is located in Laredo, Texas. This yard was strategically added in order to support customers’ needs to provide the highest level of support and equipment in the Eagle Ford shale region. The facility will have accommodations, communications equipment and auxiliary equipment on site as well as the certified technicians and staff to deliver, install and maintain the equipment provide ongoing service.
George Tech Div Manager at HB Rentals
Accommodations specialist, HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, has named Clayton George Technical Division Manager, announced President Deidre Toups. In this role, George will manage project teams for the design of modular offshore living quarters and will be based in the company’s Broussard, La., office. George has extensive industry experience in project management and previously served in this capacity for DPS Delta; Berard, Habetz & Associates; Superior Offshore; and Delta Compression & Equipment.
HB Rentals Contract in Gulf of Mexico
Offshore accommodation specialist, HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, recently was awarded a six-month, $2.5m contract. HB Rentals provided accommodations, auxiliary equipment and communication systems for five barges working along the Gulf Coast. The accommodations include complete living quarter packages consisting of sleepers, galleys, diners, offices, recreation rooms and utility buildings as well as power generation, sewage, potable water and communication systems.

Hamworthy Delivers Pumps for Four VLCCs
Fluid-handling specialist Hamworthy has signed a contract with marine equipment purchaser Hua Hai Engineering & Equipment Co., Ltd to deliver pump room systems for installation on four very large crude carriers (VLCCs) to be constructed in China. The ships, which will be built for CSC Nanjing Tanker Co., Ltd (NJTC) at Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, follow on from 10 previous VLCCs contracted by the same owner at Jiangnan Shipyard and Bohai Shipyard, all of which are being equipped with pump room systems from Hamworthy. “This contract was won due to the proven technical ability of our equipment on previously built VLCCs,” said Terje Bjornemo, Hamworthy Pump Room Systems Sales Director.

Caterpillar To Launch New CAT® CG137-8 Generator Set
Caterpillar Oil & Gas will unveil the new Cat CG137-8 natural gas generator set at the Bismarck Civic Center in Bismarck, North Dakota during the 2014 Williston Basin Petroleum Conference now in progress from May 20 – 22nd. The new Cat CG137-8 generator set provides 282 ekW (352 kVA), 60 Hz @ 1800 rpm of rated power, offering customers an additional power node to complement existing Cat power solutions in land production applications. Emilsen Fisk Buys a Workboat from Tuco Marine
Danish shipbuilder Tuco Marine rounded out 2017 with the sale of another ProZero boat for the Norwegian fish farming sector. Emilsen Fisk in Rørvik has ordered a ProZero boat tailored to breeders' specific requirements. The 11-meter ProZero workboat, purchased through Tuco subsidiary ProZero Norge AS, will be used for passenger transport at the Emilsen Fisk AS breeding plant off Rørvik. Tuco noted that the vessel’s deep-V bottom secures a comfortable ride and exceptional seakeeping capabilities – all-important qualities if the crew is to arrive rested and ready at the facility.
