Superior Offshore Names Weinhoffer as VP

Superior Offshore International, Inc. has appointed David Weinhoffer to serve as its Vice President of Business Development effective immediately. With over 25 years of oilfield-related and international marine operations experience, David Weinhoffer is a tremendous addition to Superior Offshore International’s executive management team. As Vice President of Business Development, Weinhoffer will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Superior Offshore International’s Sales, Marketing and Commercial departments.

Superior Offshore International Names Patrice Chemin as COO

Tidewater Eyeing Superior Offshore Assets

The CEO of Tidewater Inc said his company is evaluating assets from Superior Offshore International which last week warned of limited liquidity, Reuters reported said the process was in the very early stages for Tidewater, which is the world's largest provider of offshore supply boats to the energy industry. On April 1, Superior Offshore, which provides subsea construction and commercial diving services, said it hired the investment back of Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. to explore strategic alternatives, including a possible sale. Superior Offshore International Announces 1Q Results

Superior Offshore International, Inc. , a leading provider of subsea construction and commercial diving services on the outer continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico, announced operating results for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. The Company reported total revenues of $54.3 million for the first quarter of 2007, compared with revenues of $49.4 million in the prior year's first quarter, an increase of 10 percent. Revenues for the first quarter of 2007 exceeded the estimate included in the Company's Prospectus relating to its initial public offering completed on April 25, 2007.

Superior Offshore Shares Plunge

Shares of Superior Offshore International Inc., plunged after the company delayed filing its third-quarter financial statement. Superior Offshore shares dropped 77 cents, or 9 percent, to close at $7.83, after plunging 24 percent to $6.56 earlier in the session. The stock has dropped more than 40 percent since its initial public offering priced at $15 in April. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Superior Offshore said the third-quarter filing was delayed as the company determines whether it is required to reclassify long-term debt as current debt. Superior Offshore said the reclassification may be necessary under the terms of a waiver from a lender related to defaults on the company's senior secured term loan facility.

Hornbeck Offshore to Acquire Superior Achiever

Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement with Superior Offshore International, Inc, a subsea construction and commercial diving services company, to acquire the Superior Achiever, a T-22 class DP-3 new generation multi-purpose support vessel and related owner-furnished equipment, currently under construction at Merwede Shipyard in Holland with an anticipated fourth quarter 2008 delivery. Merwede Shipyard is also building for Hornbeck the HOS Iron Horse, a T-22 class DP-3 MPSV of the same design, with an expected fourth quarter 2009 delivery. With the pending acquisition of the Superior Achiever, the Company's MPSV program now consists of four vessels.

Odyssea Marine Releases Information on Vessel Fire

On August 11, the M/V Odyssea Voyager, a 195-ft. dive support vessel owned by Odyssea Marine, Inc., and operated by Odyssea’s North Bank Towing Division, was severely damaged by fire the cause of which is not yet known. Located in West Delta Block 35, the Voyager, in a four-point mooring configuration, was supporting diving operations of Superior Offshore International, Inc., when flames were noticed in a compartment in the bow section of the vessel. As the crew fought the flames, the fire spread and eventually engulfed the main cabin of the vessel. There were 40 people on board, including 26 passengers and 14 crew members, all of whom abandoned ship, and were brought to safety.

PetroCom Launches VSAT System

PetroCom’s new Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite communication system is structured around private communication networks. Built with the newest technologies and equipment, this system is designed to offer the ability to turn bandwidth on and off, re-allocate bandwidth or schedule increased bandwidth as business needs change. Recently, PetroCom signed agreements to provide VSAT voice and data services for Onyx Special Services, Superior Offshore International and Tetra Applied Technologies. Last month, Helix Energy Solutions tapped PetroCom to provide VSAT services for its offshore fleet. Multiplex VSAT communication networks with speeds from 64 to 512K are available for fixed and stabilized applications.

Damen Delivers Patrol Vessel to Nigeria

Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Ltd (Homeland) of Lagos, Nigeria, has taken delivery of another Damen 3307 Patrol Vessel for operations in the offshore oil fields in the Gulf of Guinea. This takes the total delivered vessels/Guardians since the first arrived in early 2014 to four. Guardian 4 has joined its three sister ships in providing security services to the oil majors active in Nigeria’s territorial waters, together with additional support services including crew transfers and equipment deliveries.

Parker Terminates Deal

Parker Drilling Company and Superior Energy Services, Inc., have jointly agreed to terminate their merger agreement, in which Parker was to acquire Superior in an exchange of stock. In connection with the termination, Superior will make a cash payment to Parker in settlement of certain obligations under the merger agreement. Superior, in Harvey, La., provides oilfield tool rentals, well plug and abandonment services, and other specialized products to companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf Coast regions. Parker, in Tulsa, Okla., is an international provider of offshore and on-land drilling services and oilfield tool rentals.

L&T Bags Offshore Contract from ONGC

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has signed an offshore contract for ‚ÄėBassein Development 3 Well Platform & Pipeline Project‚Äô with Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Larsen and Toubro stated in a stock exchange announcement that the contract is valued at approximately 1,483 crores (approximately 229 Million USD). The order, won against International Competitive Bidding, encompasses ‚ÄėEPCIC‚Äô ‚Äď Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning - for the project.

Tech File: Bulk Barge Cargo Transfer Systems Solution

Pontchartrain Materials Company finds innovative solution for barge unloading applications. Located in New Orleans, La., Pontchartrain Materials Corporation, LLC provides aggregates to general contractors as well as asphalt and ready-mix companies. In addition to their chief product, limestone, the family-owned company sells recycled concrete and recycled asphalt. Pontchartrain sources the material from quarries in northern states, transferring it down the Mississippi River by barge to one of three company aggregate yards or directly to customers in the New Orleans and surrounding area.

Canadian Superior Acquires Offshore Acreage

Canadian Superior Energy Inc. acquired two major exploration licenses offshore Nova Scotia from the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board. It has been advised by the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board that Canadian Superior was successful in acquiring two large offshore drilling licenses totaling 822,000 acres offshore Nova Scotia at the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board's November 1, 2001 Land Sale (See Canadian Superior's website at www.cansup.com to view "Offshore Nova Scotia Maps" and location of new lands and proposed industry wells). Superior Energy Promotes Harris

Superior Energy Services promoted Paul Harris to international business development manager-Marine Division. Harris has been with Superior’s Marine Division for three years, most recently in overall business development. Harris’s new responsibilities will include increasing Superior’s international presence as well as continuing to maintain domestic business relationships. Before joining Superior, Harris worked for Danos & Curole and the Natco Group in developing trade with the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Canada.

Superior Energy Acquires Hallin Marine Subsea

Superior Energy Services, Inc. announced that it has entered into an Implementation Agreement with Hallin Marine Subsea International Plc (AIM: HMS), to acquire Hallin for a price of 233 pence in cash per Hallin share. The offer values Hallin's existing issued and to be issued fully diluted ordinary share capital at approximately 103.5 million pounds sterling (approximately $168.3m based upon an exchange rate of $1.626, at the close of business on December 10, 2009). Hallin is an international provider of integrated subsea services and engineering solutions, focused on installing, maintaining and extending subsea wells. Keppel to Build Semisubmersible for Floatel for $315 Million

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has entered into a Letter of Intent (LOI) with returning customer Floatel International Ltd (Floatel), to build a new generation harsh environment semisubmersible (semi) worth $315 million for delivery in July, 2014. This will be Floatel's fourth accommodation semi with Keppel FELS after the delivery of Floatel Superior and Floatel Reliance in 2010 and the order of Floatel Victory in 2011. The new semi will be based on the Floatel Superior design, a DSSTM 20NS design developed by GustoMSC and Keppel FELS' Deepwater Technology Group. Equipped with Dynamic Positioning (DP) 3 capability, it will meet the most stringent rules and regulations for worldwide operations including the Norwegian Sector.

Superior Energy Services Acquires Duffy & McGovern

Duffy & McGovern Accommodation Services has been acquired by US oilfield services firm Superior Energy Services Inc. The $47m deal sees Superior Energy Services continue its international expansion and complement its existing accommodation subsidiary HB Rentals, which is headquartered in Broussard, La. and provides accommodation and accessories to oil and gas companies in Oklahoma, Texas, the Rocky Mountains, Gulf of Mexico and Trinidad. As a result of the deal, Duffy & McGovern, which is headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland and whose staff and management team will all remain in position, will be investing some US$15 million (UK£7.6 million) with immediate effect to accelerate its fleet growth.

The Simsea AS maritime training center in Haugesund, Norway, has chosen Kongsberg Maritime to support the extension of its offshore simulation facilities with new simulators and significant upgrades to existing simulators. Kongsberg Maritime has also recently delivered a new rig simulator model at Simsea, based on the Floatel Superior accommodation unit, which is currently in operation in the North Sea. Rowan, El Paso and Canadian Superior Announce Contracting of Rowan Gorilla V

Rowan Companies, Inc., El Paso Oil & Gas Canada, Inc., an indirect subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, and Canadian Superior Energy Inc. announced the contracting of the Rowan Gorilla V for the initial drilling of El Paso's and Canadian Superior's Marquis Natural Gas Project Offshore Nova Scotia. "The Rowan Gorilla V is one of the largest jack-up drilling rigs operating in the world and in association with Canadian Superior, we are very pleased to see this contract awarded to Rowan," said Harvey Klingensmith, President of El Paso Canada. The Gorilla V is the first of a series of Super Gorilla class jack-ups capable of drilling and producing simultaneously in water depths up to 400 feet in harsh environments like offshore Eastern Canada.

HB Rentals Completes Trinidad Offshore Work

Offshore accommodation specialist,  HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, has completed an eight-building and heliport package on a fixed platform in offshore Trinidad, Jude Primeaux Director of International Operations announced. The 12-month project included the construction of three 12-man sleepers, a galley, diner, office, laundry room, company man office, and heliport with a fire suppression system. HB Rentals also provided stairs and platforms for the building package.

New Boat Delivered to Royal Bahamas Police Force

SAFE Boats International, a manufacturer of aluminum, patrol and response boats located in Bremerton, Wash., has manufactured and delivered two new 41-foot Center Console ‚Äď Offshore Interceptors for the Royal Bahamas Police Force adding to its growing fleet of SAFE Boats. The 41-foot Center Console - Offshore Interceptor Vessel‚Äôs primary mission is counter-narcotics and human trafficking interdiction within the waters of the Bahamas. The vessels were delivered late in December and acquired through a joint effort between the U.S.
