Wison Begins Arctic LNG 2 Project

Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM), the upstream oil and gas division of Chinese conglomerate Wison Group Holding, announced the fabrication of Arctic LNG 2 Project (ALNG2 Project) commenced in Zhoushan Yard.The module fabrication contract was awarded by Technip France S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of TechnipFMC.Novatek, client of ALNG2 project, is the largest independent natural gas producer in Russia. Jutal Offshore Wins Contracts Worth $490m

Saipem Joins JV for Arctic LNG2 Project

Italian oil and gas industry contractor Saipem reached a deal on Friday to participate in a joint engineering venture for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the west of Siberia.The subsidiary of Eni said in a press release that it has has reached an agreement with Technip France SA and NIPIgaspererabotka to participate in the Joint Venture for the realization of the Arctic LNG2 project.The project has been awarded by Arctic LNG2, a company formed by Novatek JSPC (60%) and Ekropromstroy Ltd (40%).It comprises the detailed design, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and start-up of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains…

DONG Postpones Major Oil Project Offshore Denmark

DONG Energy <IPO-DONG.CO> has terminated a contract to build an oil and gas platform for its Hejre field, postponing indefinitely the major development offshore Denmark, the Danish majority state-owned utility said on Tuesday. DONG said the supplier consortium, Technip France and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, had not been able to meet its commitments under the contract. DONG, which operates the field and holds a 60 percent stake, and Germany's Bayerngas, which has the remaining 40 percent, will assess alternatives to develop the field and will work closely with the Danish authorities, DONG said. FMC Technologies Awarded Offshore Contract

FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced on May 14, 2012 that it has signed an agreement with Technip France, on behalf of the Technip Samsung Consortium (TSC), to supply offshore loading arm systems as part of the Shell Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) Project. FMC’s scope of supply includes seven offshore footless marine loading arms, four for liquefied natural gas and three for liquefied petroleum gas. FMC’s Loading Systems business in Sens, France will design and manufacture the equipment. “Today’s announcement expands our existing support of the Prelude development, having received the subsea equipment contract in June of 2011,” said Robert Potter, FMC’s Executive Vice President, Energy Systems.

Shell Prelude FLNG Project – Loading Gear Contract

FMC Technologies, Inc. has announced that it has signed an agreement with Technip France, on behalf of the Technip Samsung Consortium (TSC), to supply offshore loading arm systems as part of the 'Shell Prelude' Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) Project. FMC's scope of supply includes seven offshore footless marine loading arms, four for liquefied natural gas and three for liquefied petroleum gas. FMC's Loading Systems business in Sens, France will design and manufacture the equipment. FLNG opens up new business opportunities for countries looking to develop their gas resources, bringing more natural gas to market. Shell is the first to go ahead with such a project, Prelude FLNG.

Drydocks World to Build World’s Largest Turret

Dubai - Drydocks World, international player in ship repair and rig upgrade, conversion and new building, announced today that it will build the world’s largest turret, weighing 11,500 tons, for SBM Offshore, a pioneer in the offshore oil and gas industry, at its world-leading Dubai based shipyard. The turret will be integrated in the world's first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility, to be deployed by Shell Development (Australia) Pty Ltd. at its Prelude gas field off the northwest coast of Australia. It is a game-changing and innovative use of technology, which will allow Shell to bring new energy sources to market, by accessing offshore gas fields which would otherwise be uneconomic or difficult to develop via a traditional land-based facility.

ExxonMobil, Qatar Petroleum Progress LNG Project

In a joint statement issued at the conclusion of an inauguration ceremony held in Doha, Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Ras Laffan (III) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, announced the launch of Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (RL3). RL3 is a further expansion of the existing LNG production facilities operated by RasGas Company Limited (Qatar Petroleum 70 percent; ExxonMobil 30 percent) at Ras Laffan Industrial city in North Eastern Qatar. This project is planned to bring the total number of trains operated by RasGas to seven (Trains 1 and 2 in RL, 3 through 5 in RL II and 6 and 7 in RL 3) and is expected to increase RasGas LNG production capacity by more than 70 percent. Full-chain investment in RL 3 is estimated at near $14 billion.
