Imtra Names New CFO

Jeff Vancura

Imtra, a manufacturer and importer of marine products, announced today the hire of Jeff Vancura to be the company’s next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). A finance veteran with 20 years of executive experience, Mr. Vancura has held similar roles for Double E Company, TPI Composites and Mettler-Toledo Thornton. In addition to his financial duties, Mr. Vancura is also a member of Imtra’s strategic planning team. Mr. Vancura was selected following an extensive search after Ned Rogerson, Imtra's CFO for more than 23 years, announced he would retire.

TPI Tapped to Build Sail Training Craft

TPI Composites, Inc., Warren R.I., is being awarded a $6,783,216 firm-fixed-price contract, for construction of 16 United States Naval Academy 44 foot sail training craft (STC) used for professional development and training for midshipmen. The STCs will be constructed of fiberglass reinforced plastic. Work will be performed in Warren, R.I., and is expected to be completed by April 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting (N00024-04-C-2224).

Gladding-Hearn Delivers Fast Ferry for Lake Erie

Gladding-Hearn has again added to its reputation as one of the preeminent builders of fast craft in the U.S. with the delivery of Jet Express III, a new 88-ft. (26.6-m) high speed passenger ferry for Put-In-Bay Boat Line and Put-In-Bay Township Port Authority of South Bass Island, Ohio. The catamaran, built to the Incat design, will transport up to 149 passengers between Port Clinton and South Bass Island on Lake Erie. The owner currently operates two 98-ft. high speed ferries, which have carried more than 150,000 passengers each summer from the mainland for more than a decade.
