Trelleborg Wins Elastopipe Contract

Swedish global engineering group Trelleborg's  offshore operation has been awarded a major multi-million USD contract by Mexican state-owned petroleum company, Pemex, for Elastopipe.Elastopipe, a patented flexible piping system developed for transporting a variety of fluids, will be installed on board the Abkatun A complex in the Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico.Morten Kristensen, Business Group Director at Trelleborg’s offshore facility in Norway, said: “This is our first contract made directly with Pemex and the largest contract in our history for Trelleborg’s Elastopipe system. Trelleborg Suite Supplied to Prelude FLNG

Trelleborg’s marine systems operation has supplied a suite of products to Shell’s Prelude FLNG facility, the largest offshore facility ever constructed. Prelude, which is 488 meters long, 74 meters wide, and made with more than 260,000 tons of steel, will extract and liquefy natural gas from a site in North West Australia. Trelleborg Acquires US Marine Fender Company

Swedish based Trelleborg AB has finalized the acquisition of Maritime International, Inc., a U.S. based privately owned designer and manufacturer of marine fender systems and other quay accessories. The transaction will be consolidated as of October 15, 2015. Report Reveals Missing Value Link Offshore

A recent survey conducted by Trelleborg’s offshore operation paints a positive industry outlook with decision makers taking a long term ‘value-add’ view. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) rated product quality, responsiveness and skills above cost as the most important supplier attributes. In fact, only 4 percent cited cost as a primary driver in determining preferred partners. However, there is a missing value link, as in practice cost savings appear to be taking priority.

Trelleborg Steps Into Canadian Market

Trelleborg’s offshore and marine systems operations will, for the first time, showcase a number of its latest product developments at the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show (ACPS), Newfoundland, later this month. These include thermal insulation, over bend and fire deluge systems, as well as subsea buoyancy and fender solutions. Trelleborg will present its U.S. Coast Guard approved Elastopipe; a corrosion-free alternative to carbon steel deluge systems made from synthetic rubber, as well as its SeaCushion fenders.

LNG on the Rise

As the world’s economies search for sustainable, reliable, renewable energy sources, they are also more closely examining a range of fossil fuels to find the cleanest, least harmful of those to cut carbon emissions and improve air quality in the process. In the drive to cut carbon emissions, interest in liquefied natural gas (LNG) is growing. LNG is being looked at not only as fuel for generating electricity and heat, but also as a fuel for powering marine vessels, road vehicles and trains. With the recent development of abundant shale gas deposits in the United States, the LNG market is really set to take off. The common method for transporting natural gas worldwide is to liquefy it so it takes up less volume and can be transported in specialized LNG carrier vessels.

Trelleborg Report Optimistic for Port Investment

The latest 'Barometer Report' from Trelleborg's marine operations business sector, discusses the issues impacting ports and terminals around the globe, and reveals the most optimistic outlook on investment since the annual industry survey began in 2010, with 93% of port owners and operators expecting capital expenditure budgets to increase over the next twelve months and 88% expecting operational expenditure budgets to grow too. An overwhelming 98% of consultants and contractors also said they expect capital and operational expenditure budgets to increase. So, despite other challenges revealed by the report, the overall picture is optimistic.

Trelleborg Opens Houston Office

Trelleborg’s marine systems operation announces plans to open a new sales and business development office in Houston, Texas, U.S. Trelleborg said it will establish a local “feet on the ground” presence in the area and confirms the company’s commitment to the global oil and gas industry. Citing growth in the region as a strategic priority, Trelleborg Marine Systems will relocate its USA President, Faiyaz Kolsawala, to operate from Houston as well as a number of its global sales team, including a specialist docking and mooring representative and a dedicated oil and gas transfer and vessel technology salesperson to provide a closer relationship with customers in the area and the reassurance of a face-to-face presence.

Trelleborg’s engineered products operation has completed its first oil and gas floatover project in China, supplying a range of its floatover hardware for the BoZhong (BZ) 35-2 COOEC offshore platform in Tianjin. Designed and fabricated by China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC), the platform’s specification called for hardware that guaranteed reliability and safety, and required a supplier with the highest standards and a strong track record. Trelleborg Acquires LNG Ship Safety Specialist

Trelleborg is Raising the Bar

Trelleborg held its Capital Markets Day on Thursday, 6 December in Berns Salonger, Stockholm, Sweden. At the event, Trelleborg took the opportunity to release new financial targets for the Group and to launch a more focused organizational structure. New financial targets are in line with Trelleborg’s ambitions to increase value creation and to be a world leader in selected market segments and geographic markets. They include organic growth of 5 percent or above as well as an operating margin before interest and tax of 12 percent or above of sales.
