Wireline Secures PEMEX Contract

Wireline International has secured a contract worth up to $3.1/£1.9million for the supply of its patented Roller Bogie  wireline conveyance tools to Mexican state-owned petroleum company PEMEX. The wireline and well intervention technology specialist secured the contract for a range of its Roller Bogie  products, designed to enhance the deployment of wireline equipment in deviated wells. Expro Recognized for Well Intervention Technology

International oilfield services company Expro has won the Offshore Achievement Innovator Award in recognition of its ground-breaking AX-S subsea well intervention technology. The Innovator Award, which was presented at a ceremony in Aberdeen on 15 March, recognizes excellence in innovative technological solutions developed in the UK for the offshore energy sector. “Subsea and deepwater well intervention are increasingly important, as operators look to extend reservoir life and maximize production,” said David Shand, AX-S managing director.

Aker Solutions Acquires Well Technology Business

Aker Solutions has signed an agreement to acquire the well intervention technology business from X3M (pronounced "Extreme") International. The acquisition will grow Aker Solutions' well intervention technology and service portfolio worldwide as well as increase the company's presence in the important Middle East market. X3M is an international niche provider of down-hole intervention service tools and technology products. Its core products are innovative down-hole tools like plugs, packers, hangers, valves and a complete range of setting and recovery tools.

Aker Kvaerner Opens New Facility in Houston

Aker Kvaerner will officially open its new North Sam Houston Parkway facility in Houston on April 25. The new purpose built facility will include operational support of three main activities; drilling equipment, well intervention technology and subsea systems. It will be the primary centre for assembly, testing and aftermarket activity for Aker Kvaerner's oil field operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The facility includes advanced laboratories for assembly of electronic and hydraulic technology, pressure testing for ultra-deepwater applications and a pit for underwater testing of deepwater trees and pumps.
