Developing Effective Training Solutions to Benefit Crews and Operators in a Changing World.
Devices, apps and digital are coming fast on boats in 2020. As simple and cost effective solutions become available to improve decision making in all sea conditions the NEXT GEN Workshop brings end-users and industry together to address the burning issues.
July 2020 is 10 years since UK and European Vibration Directives came into force. Maritime organizations now recognize there is a need to debate the implications of Control of Vibration at Work regulations in ports, waterways and the open sea, including methods for partial exemption.
All commercial operators need to understand the short and long term effects of impact and vibration on crews and passengers. Low speed workboats deal with very different Repetitive Shock & Whole Body Vibration forces to high speed military craft - but pain is pain!
NEXT GEN gives maritime professionals operating fast workboats and RHIBs the opportunity to meet other organizations with similar challenges. Industry experts showing latest innovations include SKYDEX Technologies, Shockwave Seats, Scot Seats, KPM Marine, Dyena Systems, SEAir flying boats and foiling systems
Sea borders are protected 24/7 and on a dark and stormy night the maritime community needs search and rescue in all weathers. Over the past decade specialist operators have learned hard lessons about which suspension technology works and what vibration data is relevant to people on boats.
The unique knowledge gained from NEXT GEN Workshops helps to inform decisions that lead to improvements for in-service systems and procurement of future vessels that fit the rapidly changing requirements of modern fleets.
John Haynes said, "We are running the NEXT GEN Shock Mitigation Solutions Workshop on 6 October with a Marine RS & WBV Awareness Course back to back on 7 October. People are welcome to attend one or both days."
Supporters of the event include UK Maritime Pilots, UK Harbour Masters, University of Southampton and Southampton Solent University. There is a discount rate for members of British Marine, RINA, UKMPA, UKHMA, YBDSA, PCA, SAR, military and government agencies.
