RS Will Participate in IMDS 2013

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will for the first time participate in the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS 2013) to take place in St Petersburg from July 3-7, 2013.

RS will feature design support services, construction and repair services for ships and supply vessels of different types materials and products certification, production process survey as well as management system certification of enterprises participating in the Government Defense Procurement procedures and organizations engaged in research, development, production, delivery, maintenance, operation, repair and disposal of military equipment and defense products.

As a classification society, RS has a long-standing tradition of interaction with the Navy and is now participating in a number of construction, repair and conversion projects of naval ships and vessels. RS was involved in the repair of the drill ship Smolniy at the yards of Varna (Bulgaria). In the near term is the repair of the drill ship Perekop and the large landing ship Tsezar Kunikov. Native shipbuilding yards are engaged in the construction of a ship series of projects 90600, 16609, PE 65, SKPO 1000 multifunction complex port service vessels, logistic support ships of project 23120, marine self-propelled floating cranes of project 02690. Besides, patrol ships of project 22120 for the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia are built to the RS class.
