Passenger Ferry On Fire

A passenger ferry caught fire early on Thursday while docked at a Turkish Black Sea port.

Reportedly 12 crew members were rescued, but a search was on for a missing sailor who was believed to be still inside the vessel. There was no mention of any passengers on board.

The ferry, Gurgen-2, was built to carry up to 350 passengers and 23 trucks. It regularly travels between Turkey's Black Sea port of Trabzon and the Russian holiday resort of Sochi. The ferry was towed out to sea as fire-fighters feared the blaze might spread to fuel tanks and pose a threat to the town.
