SENESCO Purchases PERCEPTION

Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation (SENESCO) of North Kingston, R.I. has purchased a production planning and resource management system, PERCEPTION, from SPAR Associates, Inc., Annapolis, Md. The PC Windows-based system integrates major business activities of the shipyard: cost estimating; planning and scheduling; purchasing, production inventory, and vendor invoice control; work order time charge management; job costing, progressing and resource requirements forecasting; and automated customer billing. PERCEPTION has been fully integrated with Microsoft's Great Plains Dynamics accounting system and has links to a variety of CAD software products. SPAR also has been contracted to provide training and implementation support services.
With the advent of fuel transition, digitalization, AI and autonomy, innovation in vessel design and operation proceeds at unprecedented speed.
