Boatracs Appoints New Personnel

Boatracs, a business unit of Advanced Remote Communication Solutions, Inc., has appointed new personnel to better service clients, and expand sales coverage in the Pacific Northwest. In newly created positions, Robert Trainor joins the company as Sales Engineer, managing activities for the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and western Canada, and Steven M. Bryan, Sr. as Manager of Projects, Design and Development. Both positions report to Charles J. Drobny Jr., Chief Operating Officer of Boatracs.

Trainor is responsible for expanding Boatracs' regional coverage by delivering products and services that improve safety, integrate information, manage data, and facilitate fishermen's ability to obtain the best price for their catch while at sea. Most recently, he worked as Sales and Marketing Manager for Canstar Navigation, a Canadian company that manufactures PC-based radar charting systems for the commercial and recreational boat markets. Trainor also has nine years of experience as a Navigation Officer for the Canadian Coast Guard, and worked as a Manufacturer's Representative for international companies including The Nobeltec Corporation, Ocean PC, Humminbird/Teleflex, and Western Marine Industrial Supplies. He graduated from the University of Victoria Law School, Victoria, British Columbia, with a Bachelor of Law degree, and holds an honors degree in Navigational Science from the Canadian Coast Guard College in Syndey, Nova Scotia.

Bryan is responsible for the integration of Boatracs' products, and brings more than twenty-five years of experience in the marine transportation industry. Most recently he served as Information Systems Manager for Magnolia Marine Transport Company, where he managed the installation of information management systems on the company's fleet. Previously he held positions with Runyan Industries, Florida Marine Transporters, Inc., and Brown Marine Service, Inc.
