Shares of American Commercial Lines Inc., a barge operator, spiked in premarket trading after the company raised its 2006 outlook on pricing strength and improved efficiency benefits.
Shares rose $2.98, or 5.8 percent, to $54.12 in premarket electronic trading. The stock closed at $51.14 Monday and has traded in a 52-week range of $25.60 to $63.47.
