Calif. Vessel Speed Reduction Survey

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

January 5, 2009

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is conducting a vessel speed reduction survey.  The purpose of the information collection is to help determine the economic  impacts that any vessel speed reduction program or measure may have on the shipping industry. Responses are requested from ship owners/operators (both US and foreign) and charterers that visited a California port in 2007.  The survey is targeted at ships of 400 ft or greater in length, ships of 10,000 gross tons or greater, and/or vessels propelled by compression-ignition engines with a per-cylinder displacement of 30 liters or greater.  The survey should be completed and returned to the CARB by January 30, 2009. (12/22/08).
