Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

June 9, 2003

A&P Tyne has begun a series of repair projects involving Offshore Supply Vessels (OSVs) owned by Norway’s Farstad Shipping ASA, Aalesund. The first in the series was the 4,680 dwt Far Swan, which was completed during early June, to be followed by the 3,053 dwt Far Supporter and the 3,050 dwt Far Server during June and July, all three vessels operated out of Farstad Shipping’s Aberdeen office. A&P has an agreement with Farstad Shipping’s Aberdeen office covering routine drydockings of OSVs operating in the UK sector of the North Sea, ships operated out of the Aalesund office also using the Wallsend Shipyard on an occasional basis. Apart from the three Farstad OSVs, A&P Tyne has recently completed repairs to the A P Moller’s 4,654 dwt Danish OSV Maersk Frontier and currently in the Wallsend yard is the 4,709 dwt OSV Toisa Invincible, which is operated in the UK sector by Sealion Shipping, Farnham. A&P Tyne is ideally located on the UK East Coast as a repair base for OSVs and other offshore vessels working in the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea.
