China Marine Management Restructure by LR

Classification Society Lloyd's Register is restructuring its marine management in China to create a more efficient operating model. The new Marine Manager for Greater China will by Maogen Xue, to be based in Shanghai. The changes in personnel are as follows:

In a new area named East China, Lin Li, Area Manager for Shanghai & Nantong, will be responsible for all operational and business issues in Zhejiang Province. He will be supported by his Senior Surveyors-in-Charge, Y.P. Dai, Francesco Ruisi and Xingtai Shi who will continue to manage LR operations in Zhoushan, Shanghai and Nantong respectively. Lin will be supported by GZ Wang as Area Principal Specialist and QC Sun as Area Marine Marketing Manager.

In a new area named South China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Alan Sharp, Area Manager for South China, will be responsible for all operational and business issues in Hong Kong and Taiwan. He will be supported by SK Gupta who will become the Senior Surveyor-in-Charge for Guangzhou & Hong Kong, YY Kan, Senior Surveyor-in-Charge for Taiwan and Xu Gang, Senior Surveyor-in-Charge for Wuhan.

David Power, former Marine Area Manager for Hong Kong & Taiwan, is returning to the UK. His role as Chairman of the Shanghai Devolved Classification Executive for postponements and extensions plus force majeure situations will be handed over to Jerry Souster, the Greater China Technical Performance Manager.

Captain Chen Shizhou, Vice President Marine Business for Hong Kong & Southern China, will in addition become the Marine Business Manager for Hong Kong and will report to the new General Manager of Greater China BDT, a post that is currently being advertised. He will be supported by Ben Lau, Marine Marketing Manager and Lead Statutory Specialist. Vincent Hsu is already in place as the Marine Business Manager for Taiwan and will also now report directly to the new General Manager of Greater China BDT.
