The HP500 has a modular design allowing for side-load applications. An advanced control system allows for smooth engagement of the driven equipment.

A key feature of the HP500 is the auxiliary drive pump towers with 299 kW maximum capacity per tower, or 336 kW maximum for both. They're rotatable by 0°, 45° and 90°, either clockwise or counter-clockwise, to allow for clearance in any installation. Speed increase ratios of 1:1, 0.77:1 and 0.83:1 are available, as are dual auxiliary or single pump tower versions. Additionally, a spring-applied, hydraulically released brake (SAHR) has been added as a standard feature.

In 2017, Twin Disc debuted the HP800, remote over center RO 314/311, and remote-controlled RC214 and RC314 PTOs. This year, it celebrates 100 years of manufacturing rugged, reliable and innovative power equipment that is used worldwide in a broad range of industries.
