PT Samudera Indonesia reportedly entered into an agreement with STX Shipbuilding to buy a pair of bulk carriers for $97.6m, the Jakarta Post reported. Upon delivery, the vessels will be deployed on a time-charter contract and are expected to increase Samudera's capacity to meet the demand for bulk carrier services.
Samudera currently operates 20 vessels.
