The new 30-ton harbor tugs of the DAMEN ASD TUG 2009 series are to be equipped with SCHOTTEL propulsion systems. The signing of contracts on November 10, 2011 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the propulsion specialist’s long success story in the field of tug propulsion. The tugs are to be built at the DAMEN shipyard in Changde (China) and will each be fitted with two Rudderpropellers of type SRP 550 FP (895 kW each). The first systems for the tugs, which are approx. 20m long and 9m wide, are due for delivery in the summer of 2012.
