SeaArk’s 3rd PB to Royal Cayman Islands

SeaArk Marine, Inc. has recently delivered Cayman Guardian, a 65 ft Dauntless RAM Patrol boat to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Marine Unit.

The fast patrol boat is to be assigned to the joint Customs, Police and Immigration Marine Unit for border protection in helping to prevent drug and illegal immigrant trafficking in the Cayman Islands.

The vessel is powered by twin MAN diesel engines at 1100 hp each coupled to ZF gears. This patrol boat can attain a top speed of 34 knots with a comfortable cruise of 28 knots. All enclosed cabin spaces are fully climate controlled. The pilothouse includes hydraulic/suspension seating for a crew of six with dedicated navigator communication and engineer stations. In addition, the pilothouse also includes an emergency treatment table, as well as weapon and ammo storage lockers. The electronic suite includes extensive communications equipment, two fully integrated radar sets with GPS, auto pilot, plotters and SAT NAV equipment.

The vessel is equipped with an infra-red camera and a closed circuit TV system with three, cameras, fore deck, aft deck and engine room. The weather deck equipment includes an electric/hydraulic deck crane, forward weapon station and, aft, port and starboard weapon stations. All weapon stations are equipped with David Clark communications systems to the pilothouse command.

For onboard electrical service, a 20.0 kW Northern Lights generator and 100 amp shore power are provided, supplying 110/220 volt auxiliary power to the boat. Lower cabin accommodations include two berthing areas with zoned climate control, hanging lockers and secure individual lockers. Additional accommodations include marine head/shower, full galley with upper and lower cabinets, storage compartment lockers and a dinette/settee with dry storage.

SeaArk Marine also built the Cayman Protector in 1994, and delivered the Cayman Defender in September 2008. The SeaArk Dauntless Class vessel is based on a proven hull designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Associates, of Boston, MA, and is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum. The vessel features a deep-vee variable deadrise hull that produces a smooth, dry and stable ride.
