Kleven Net OCV Construction Contract
Kleven has signed a contract with Østensjø Rederi in Haugesund, Norway, for the building of a 150 m long offshore construction vessel. Total contract value is NOK 1.4 billion, making it the largest contract ever for Kleven. The highly advanced vessel of SALT 304 OCV design will be equipped with a 400t crane, a 70t crane, Vertical Lay System and carousel. The vessel is to be delivered from Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway in Q1 2016, and will enter into a long time chart for Deep Ocean.
Milaha CEO Al-Hetmi to Step Down
Milaha president and CEO, Khalifa Ali Al-Hetmi, will retire in September, the Qatar-based marine transport and logistics conglomerate announced. Having joined Milaha 31 years ago, Al-Hetmi has been at the helm of Milaha for the past seven years. During his tenure as CEO, he oversaw the strategic acquisition of Qatar Shipping and Halul Offshore Services in 2010, and was responsible for the subsequent transformation of the newly created group and the launch of the Milaha brand in 2011.
Aramco Orders Tankers
State-owned Saudi Aramco has awarded South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering a contract to construct six large oil tankers. No value was given for the deal.

Ballast water treatment (BWT) system Optimarin has picked up an order covering 15 vessels from VARD shipyards. The vessels, VARD 9 21 Design specialist module carriers, will be constructed for ship owner Topaz at two shipyards in Romania - Vard Braila and Vard Tulcea ā and one in Vietnam, Vard Vung Tau. āVARD knows our systems well, having installed some 55 units on their newbuildings across the world since 2011,ā said Optimarin CEO, Tore Andersen.

V.Ships, the ship management arm of global maritime services provider V.Group, has recently completed the transfer of the rapidly growing Pioneer fleet of geared dry bulk carriers into its management portfolio.
