Company Fined for Ocean Dumping Violation

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a News Release stating that a company was fined $5,000 for improper disposal of a tuna skiff offshore of Pago Pago, American Samoa in violation of the Ocean Dumping Act. The company failed to provide notification and disposal information to the EPA and the U.S. Coast Guard and failed to take the skiff more than 12 miles offshore before sinking it. source: HK Law
