Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

February 5, 2003

Following inaugural events in Fort Lauderale during December 2002 during where Holland America Line showcased the new vessel to more than 13,000 travel agents, guests and alumni, m/s Zuiderdam has now commenced its year-round Caribbean Cruise program. M/s Zuiderdam, with a capacity of 1848 passengers, is the first of the Vista class vessels to be installed with the latest version of the Fidelio Cruise Ship's Property Management System offering an integrated management system to the vessel. Working closely with Holland America Line's in-house IT department, the team of Fidelio Cruise and Micros POS implementation specialists completed the installation process in time for the vessel's maiden voyage. "By configuring and setting up servers at the company's Seattle headquarters prior to shipment to the vessel, Fidelio Cruise was able to offer the customer a more relaxed environment in which to become familiar with the system prior to shipboard installation" stated Fidelio Cruise President, Tony Heuer. After the arrival and installation of the servers onboard, over 80 Fidelio Cruise clients were configured in a production line environment, connected to the network and tested before a full training was given to all users. The Fidelio Cruise system brings m/s Zuiderdam a host of functionality including full passenger and crew handling capability, a fully automated Check-In with Picture Taking, Gangway Security System (SOLAS) compliant, full Shore Excursions module that accepts pre-paid and pre-booked excursions from the Holland America system, SilverWhere Dining Room module, Hotel Maintenance and Marketing and Promotions module. The "one-card-fits-all" system is also in use offering passengers the ease of using their Onboard Card for gangway transit and ID, cabin entry and for all purchases onboard.
