Yacht Business Improves – Boat Show Retrospective
There were signs at the recent Palm Beach International Boat Show that the much anticipated turnaround of the yachting industry has begun. Compared to 2011, attendance was up 12 percent cumulatively the first two days of the four-day show. Show Management, the company which produces the boat show, reported more boats on display in several categories this year, including a 35 percent increase in yachts over 100 feet and 29 percent more yachts in the 80 to 100 foot range.
Solstad Gets Three PSV Charter Agreements
Total E&P UK Limited and Elf Exploration UK Limited have signed agreements for hire of the platform supply vessels (PSV) “Normand Aurora”. The duration of the contract is firm for 5 years with further 2 x 1 year options. EDT Offshore Egypt S.A.E has signed for hire of Stand-By vessel “Normand Draupne ”. The duration of the contract is firm for 1 year with further 1 year option with commencement April 2012.
China Shipyard Delivers Double-hull Bunker Tanker to AMPN

Eastern Shipbuilding Delivers Second Tiger Shark Class Vessel
Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc. announced the early delivery of the Sisuag, the second of three 292-foot Tiger Shark Class Offshore Support Vessels, to Harvey Gulf International Marine LLC of New Orleans, La. Launched in October, the Sisuag is a DP II, SOLAS-approved, FIFI 1 Classed, AC diesel-electric powered, twin Z-drive propelled OSV. This high-tech vessel features four Cummins QSK60-DM 16-cylinder turbo-charged Tier II diesel generator engines, rated 1825 Kw at 1,800 rpm.

Erie, Pa. – Seajon LLC, a partnership between Seacor Holdings Inc. and Donjon Marine Co. Inc., held an open house and christening of the 34,000-ton capacity self-unloading articulated tug and barge (ATB) Ken Boothe Sr. and Lakes Contender.
