Netherlands-based operator of gas tankers in the segments of gas shipping Anthony Veder has taken delivery of two 10,000-cbm combined gas carriers, which can transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) and petrochemical gases including ethylene (LEG).

With this transaction Anthony Veder expands its fleet to 33 vessels and reinforces its leading position in small scale LNG. With eight small scale LNG vessels the company continues their strategy to support  the potential for LNG as a marine fuel and in the distribution of LNG for power supply.

The gas carriers were part of the Skaugen fleet, and are renamed Coral Favia and Coral Fungia. As an integrated shipping company, Anthony Veder will take over the commercial operation and ship management from the current managers.

Jan Valkier, CEO of Anthony Veder says: “The acquisition is consistent with our focus on providing safe and sustainable shipping solutions to our customers in the petrochemical gas segment and in the small scale LNG market. This fleet expansion marks an important step in our continuous commitment to both segments.”

According to Jan Valkier these ships will support our customers in developing the small scale LNG market globally. “After a short yard period to upgrade them to our standards, the vessels are available to our customers in the second quarter of 2019.”
