Nichols Brothers to Build Cruise Vessels

 

Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (Nichols Boats), located in Freeland, Washington, recently signed an agreement with Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc. to build two new 100 guest ships. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2017, and the second vessel will be completed in the second quarter of 2018.

These new vessels will provide the Lindblad Expeditions' guests with comfortable accommodations, flexible dining options and advanced technical equipment for presentations and discussions. The new vessels will also have storage for a fleet of sea kayaks, paddle boards, and specially designed landing craft - all of which are geared to get guests out and into the wild, remote places being explored. Outside decks provide open space for guests to view their natural surroundings, as well as space for social gatherings and group activities.

Nichols Boats, builder of the currently operating Lindblad Expeditions vessels, the National Geographic Sea Lion and the National Geographic Sea Bird, has over 45 years of shipbuilding experience. Many of the vessels built by Nichols operate on the West Coast, Pacific Northwest and Alaska and are known for their quality construction and durability.

According to Nichols Boats CEO, Gavin Higgins, “We are pleased Nichols Boats was selected as the builder of the new Lindblad Expeditions Vessels. Jamestown Metal Marine Sales, Inc. will be working closely with Nichols Boats on the vessels interior.
