Thales Offers New GPS Compass

Thales Navigation’s new 3011 GPS compass meets the requirements of modern navigation systems, including radar, ARPA radar, automatic pilot, data acquisition for bathymetry, and others, all of which are all increasingly being used by navigation professionals, hydrographers and fishermen. The Thales 3011 measures the vessel’s course with an accuracy of 0.5° and boasts ease of installation and operation. The system features one single downlink cable as well as an automatic calibration capability. It offers the functionality of a gryrocompass at a lower price and without the requirement of periodic maintenance. The 3011 can be fully operational in less than 80 seconds after the power is supplied, and less than 15 seconds in signal re-acquisition.
