CMA CGM Launches 396-meter Container Ship, Jules Verne

The CMA CGM Group announced the CMA CGM Jules Verne (16,000 containers twenty-foot equivalent), sailing under the French flag, will be inauguratedJune 4.

The CMA CGM Jules Verne, among the largest container ships in the world, will begin its first rotation Friday, May 3rd, in Pusan, South Korea. Operated on the emblematic line of the Group, the French Asia Line , the CMA CGM Jules Verne will call at Pusan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Chiwan, Yantian, Port Kelang, Suez, Malta, Marseilles, Tanger, Southampton, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Suez, Khor Al Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Port Kelang and Ningbo.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the CMA CGM Group, the CMA CGM Jules Verne will be deviated from its rotation and call exceptionally in Marseilles, where she will be inaugurated, Tuesday, June 4th, in the presence of Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic.

The CMA CGM Jules Verne is the third 16,000 teus vessel that has been delivered to the CMA CGM Group. This giant of the seas displays exceptional dimensions: 396 meters long and 54 meters wide. In line with the sustainable development policy of the Group, the CMA CGM Jules Verne is equipped with all the latest environmental technologies.
