Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems (KMSS) has secured the contract to supply an Inland Waterway Simulator to the NOVA College – Shipping, Transport and Logistics Unit based in Ijmuiden, Netherlands. KMSS and NOVA College enjoy a strong business relationship, which has been strengthened further by this repeat order. KMSS has previously delivered two Polaris systems and an engine room simulator to the college and the flexible product and the customer support program that KMSS offers will keep the NOVA College simulation facility updated throughout it’s entire life-span. The Simulator includes 3 typical inland waterway cubicles all running the latest version of Polaris Bridge Simulation software from KMSS, which will be connected to the existing network. Just released, version 4.1 of Polaris is fully scaleable and can be used on anything from a single PC screen to a full-scale mission simulator and is the cutting edge in ship simulator technology. This expands the NOVA College’s simulation capacity to 13 bridges and 4 instructor stations with the option to extend to an extra two bridges in order to meet future training demands.
