NNS Wins Navy Contract
Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co., Newport News, Va., is
being awarded a $5,878,888 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to
previously awarded contract (N00024-99-C-2100) for aircraft
carrier engineering support services. The contract will provide
engineering, technical and design agent services in support of
aircraft carrier programs. This effort includes conducting and
supporting feasibility and tradeoff studies on new and modified
shipboard systems and supporting ship design efforts. Work will
be performed in Newport News, Va., and is to be completed by
September 2003. Contract funds in the amount of $5,878,888 will
expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea
Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
