Marine Core & Charter LLC (MC2) headquartered in Dubai has taken delivery of the new build PETRA-1, the first of two, 45-meter Fast Offshore Support Vessels in a special delivery ceremony held at Dubai Maritime City on February 10, 2016.

Built by UAE- based Triangle Shipyard, the new state-of-the-art 45-meter Fast Offshore Support Vessel, designed by U.K. designers Camarc, has a proven hull design and is uniquely built to meet the market demand for an efficient support vessel. The hull is designed to optimize the power required to exceed speeds of 30 knots, combined with excellent sea keeping and a wide operational envelope. The design features a spacious deck area of 140 square meters and large fuel cargo capacity of 100 metric tons.

Adib Abdel Massih, CEO of Marine Core & Charter said, “I am very pleased to add this new outstanding FOSV under our management. PETRA-1 will commence operation in the Arabian Gulf to support oil and gas operations.”

In addition, a full-width main deck cabin maximizes space for up to 100 personnel with a 12 person VIP lounge and a high quality interior finish. The full-width superstructure has been carefully designed for roll angle tolerance; specific fendering and recessed windows further improve the protection when alongside.  The vessel will be utilized for transportation of offshore personnel, cargo and supply of fuel and fresh water.
