Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

November 26, 2002

At the Airport, Port & Terminal Security (APTS) Exhibition in London on December 3-5, Transas (Stand No. D110 ) will showcase its latest IT solutions in the field of marine safety and security. Transas will its new development for port and coastal security - Transas Port Security System, which offers protection of large scale waterside perimeter infrastructure assets such as transportation centers, power plants, water resources, hazardous waste facilities, above ground storage facilities, territorial borders, defense facilities, and any other potential targets of hostile actions from terrorists or other acts of violence.

The new Transas waterside security system incorporates the following modules: Radar Site(s), Vessel Traffic Service system, Fleet Monitoring system and a Crisis Management System, all combined by the use of Automatic Identification System and Transas proprietary TX-97 vector electronic cartography. Integration of these advanced technologies can provide an intellectual multi-level protection system for any object that can be attacked or subject to unauthorized access from the sea. Another IT innovation on view at the exhibition will be the Fleet View 3.0 monitoring system, the new product from Transas Telematics. The system is designed to provide data support for fleet monitoring; crisis management; protection of environmental resources; search and rescue operations; generation of internal databases for monitoring and will support data exchange/processing. At the APTS show Transas will also demonstrate its Crisis Management System (CMS) designed to cover key modern maritime and environmental safety issues such as Oil Spill Forecasting and Simulation, Chemical Contamination Forecasting, Marine Emergency Management and Nuclear Disaster Management. Recently Transas CMS has been added with a new application, PISCES (Potential Incident Simulation and Control Evaluation System). Transas PISCES is the incident visualisation tool that provides the means to display the status of response assets. Each of these solutions to be represented by Transas at the APTS exhibition, is available as an individual system or as part of a more complex arrangement, tailored to meet the specific requirements of any customer. Integration of all these advanced technologies can provide an intellectual multi-level protection system for any object that can be attacked or subject to unauthorized access from the sea.
