The Transportation Marketing & Communications Association (TMCA) elected seven new representatives to their board of directors, a new secretary and vice president to officer positions. This year's election was approved by an electronic ballot that was voted upon by TMCA members during the first two weeks of May. The election also involved a change in bylaws that increased the number of board members from eight to 10 seats. "We increased the size of the association's board because the membership of TMCA is growing significantly and diversifying in all modes and market segments in North American transportation," said Brian Everett, ABC, TMCA's executive director. "This increased leadership structure enables us to ensure that our board of directors adequately reflects as many market segments in transportation as possible. I'm pleased that this newly ratified leadership team represents nearly all business segments of our membership." Newly elected members to TMCA's Board of Directors include: Michael O. Blackwell, vice president of intermodal marketing and sales for Florida East Coast Railway, LLC; Cyndi Darlington, assistant vice president of sales and marketing for Amtrak; Carol Eidson, national sales director for World Trade Magazine; John Ferguson, director of sales and marketing for PBB Global Logistics; Joseph W. Leppert, III, group vice president and general manager of Intermodal for Union Pacific Railroad; Edward Moritz, vice president of marketing for Con-Way Transportation Services and John Reilly, manager of market research and communications for TTX Company. Members who remain on the board serving their second year term include Russ Dixon, marketing manager for Stonier Transportation Group, Inc.; Tonya Maxey, vice president of advertising and promotion for FedEx Freight East, Inc. and Bruce Winslow, manager of public relations and advertising for Union Tank Car Company. While Thomas “Woody” Mosgers, marketing and special projects administrator for Chicago's Regional Transportation Authority, succeeds to TMCA president for 2002-2003 and Denny Grim, executive producer of Transportation Digest was voted in as treasurer.
