COSCO Shipping Company, Ltd. establishes Joint Venture

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

December 20, 2012

After more than twenty-five years of close and productive cooperation in  providing safe and efficient world-wide ocean transportation for a wide  variety of offshore and onshore industry cargoes, COSCO Shipping Company, Ltd. and NMA Maritime & Offshore Contractors B.V.  have decided with immediate effect to further solidify their relationship by  forming two Joint Ventures, separately in the Netherlands and in the U.S.A.

It is significant that COSCO Shipping Company is the only company, which has  a large fleet of both semi-submersible and conventional heavy-lift vessels.  These two types of vessels constitute COSCO Shipping Company's core business. COSCO Shipping Company has a pool of  6 newly designed, semi-submersible vessels of 20,000, 30,000, 40,000 and  50,000 DWT capacities.

In addition, 8 new vessels with 700 tons lifting capacities will be  delivered to COSCO Shipping Company next year. Thus COSCO Shipping Company  will be one of the world leaders in its capacity to carry heavy cargoes globally.

COSCO Shipping Company's fleet of semi-submersible and conventional  heavy-lift vessels is manned by highly trained and experienced officers and  crews, ensuring safe transport of cargoes.

The vessels are supported by highly qualified and experienced on-shore  technical and commercial personnel. COSCO Shipping Company is proud to state  that it has an unblemished record of safe carriage and delivery of the most  demanding cargoes.

The Joint Venture companies, COSCO Shipping Europe B.V, and COSCO Shipping  Americas Inc., will market the vessels of COSCO Shipping Company, Ltd. under  the trade name of COSCO Heavy Transport, and will continue to provide
top-class services to their many clients world-wide, for whose long-standing  support we are grateful.
