Fincantieri Wins Cruise Ship Order

According to reports, Fincantieri said on Monday it has won an order for a cruise ship and an option for another from Costa Crociere. Together, the two vessels would be worth $1b Fincantieri said in a statement. Fincantieri said the shipbuilding would be done at Marghera, near Venice, with delivery of the first vessel due in spring of 2009. Each ship will have a passenger capacity of 2,260 with 1,130 cabins. Sixty-eight percent of the cabins will have a private balcony. Fincantieri currently has five ships on order for Costa Crociere, including one to be delivered at the end of the month. Source: AP
