International engineering consulting company NIRAS has acquired Peter Fraenkel and Partners Ltd with 20 employees and a 40-year track record of worldwide marine civil and coastal engineering.

Peter Fraenkel & Partners will obtain the name NIRAS Fraenkel, part of NIRAS Group A/S, and will work jointly with the Ports and Marine business unit of NIRAS. The business unit offers civil engineering consultancy within marine, coastal, ports, terminals and off shore installations in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. The management of Peter Fraenkel & Partners holds the remaining shares and NIRAS A/S has the right to buy those shares at any time after 3 years of operation.

”Our business areas within ports and marine structures are in growth. Especially the expansions of ports and terminals in the Middle East and Africa is a growing market area. Therefore we are constantly in need for more experienced, international specialists and project managers and with the acquisition of Peter Fraenkel we welcome 20 experienced colleagues,” says Jesper Harder, Business Unit Director at NIRAS.

“By joining NIRAS, we become part of a strong international civil engineering consultant that provides us with the international network and financial power to realise our international growth strategy,” says Managing Director Peter M. Martin of Peter Fraenkel & Partners.

NIRAS adds that both companies already have experience gained from collaboration on a number of international projects.
