Turkish Gendarmie Receives Boston Whaler Gunboats

The Turkish Gendarmie has taken delivery of four Boston Whaler 27 ft. Vigilant gunboats. The boats will be deployed in various ports in Turkey, and used for patrol and law enforcement. The 27 ft. Vigilant is Boston Whaler's walkaround cabin design. The layout of this model provides 260 degree access to all decks and crew protection from the weather for year-round use. Among the features chosen by the Gendarmie was Boston Whaler's exclusive Whaler Drive system, which optimizes cockpit space by extending the transom to facilitate engine installation further aft. The boats are powered by twin 250 hp EFI Mercury outboard motors enabling the boats to reach speeds in excess of 50 mph. Optional equipment includes a dive door cutout for rescue and recovery, strobe lights and machine gun tripods fore and aft.
