VT Halter Marine, New CEO & COO

VT Halter Marine Inc., a company of VT Systems Inc (VT Systems), announced the appointment of William (Bill) E. Skinner as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Paul J. Albert as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Skinner, who has been with the company since inception, was appointed CEO on 21 April, 2009. Prior to this appointment Skinner was VT Halter Marine’s COO (2005- 2009) and Senior Vice President of Vessel Operations (2002-2005). Skinner had held senior positions in the shipbuilding industry including President of Friede Goldman Offshore Division of Friede Goldman Halter (1997-2002), President of Alabama Shipyard, Inc following its acquisition by Atlantic Marine Holding Company (1989-1997) as well as President, CEO and Director of ADDSCO Industries (1985-1989) and President of Alabama Maritime Corporation (1979-1984). Skinner holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mobile and is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, American Bureau of Shipping, American Welding Society and Propeller Club of the United States.

Skinner succeeds the late Brigadier General Boyd E. King, USA (Ret) who passed away on 20 April this year.

Before his appointment as COO, Albert was the company’s Senior Vice President of Production. Albert joined VT Halter Marine in 2002 and is currently the Vice Chairman of the National Shipbuilding Research Panel Executive Control Board.
