Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona (TCB), belonging to Grup Marítim TCB, completed handling of the ship CMA CGM Effingham from the line operated by the shipping companies CMA CGM and Maersk Line. With a total of 3,784 loading and unloading movements carried out between July 19-20, the work sets an all-time record in the Terminal’s history.

Operations started at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 19 and were completed at midday on July 20. Three Super Post Panamax cranes were involved in the operation initially, to bring the height down. Up to five cranes were then involved in the second phase.

The total movements made over 28 hours certify the Container Terminal’s operating capacity and its efficiency in providing services to shipping companies with logistics activity in the Mediterranean Sea, optimizing service level, timescales and costs for import and export companies.

TCB said bases its effectiveness on continuous technological innovation and the excellence of its professional team. The Terminal is also immersed in a process to expand its yard surface , its berthing line and the length of the tracks in its Rail Terminal. In the works to expand the yard , a pioneering type of asphalt, known as stone mastic asphalt, is being used.
