Houston-Galveston Assessing TWIC Population

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

August 21, 2008

USCG Sector Houston-Galveston issued a Port Security Information Bulletin stating that, on August 26-27, it will conduct a comprehensive port-wide exercise to gather information regarding the population of maritime workers in the zone who will need to have a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) when the program is activated. All regulated facilities within the zone are requested to capture information from persons gaining access to the facility and report to the Sector the numbers that have enrolled, that have a TWIC in their possession, and that will require a TWIC but have not yet applied. Note: One should expect to see similar assessments undertaken in other Sectors as the TWIC activation dates approach.
