Rolls-Royce Celebrates 40 Years of Hydrodynamic Research
Today marks the 40th anniversary of the inauguration of the Rolls-Royce Hydrodynamic Research Centre (HRC) in Kristinehamn, Sweden. Since 1971, some 1000 blade designs have been carried out, and hundreds of new propeller models have been tested. While the facility's two cavitation tunnels have been in operation for 40 years, the HRC continues to evolve and employ new technologies, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to advance hydrodynamic research.
